- Trust Score: The Trust Score of the Gatoio website is very low. According to research, a good trust score for a website must be around 25 – 50 points. But if a site has more than 60 points, it’s a good reputable site trusted.
Importance Of Online Scam Review
Online scam reviews are important for several reasons.
- First and foremost, they help individuals and businesses identify scams and avoid falling victim to them. Online scams can be very sophisticated and convincing, making it difficult for even the most tech-savvy individuals to spot them. Reviews can provide valuable insights into the latest scams, how they work, and how to avoid them.
- Secondly, online scam reviews can help to raise awareness about the latest scams and their potential impact. By sharing information about scams and how they work, individuals and businesses can better understand the risks and take steps to protect themselves.
- Thirdly, online scam reviews can help to hold scammers accountable. By identifying scams and reporting them to relevant authorities, individuals can help to prevent others from falling victim to the same scams. Scammers often operate across multiple jurisdictions, making it difficult for law enforcement agencies to track them down. By sharing information about scams and reporting them, individuals can help to build a case against scammers and increase the chances of bringing them to justice.
- Finally, online scam reviews can help to build trust in online platforms and marketplaces. By identifying and removing scams from these platforms, businesses can help to protect their customers and build a reputation for safety and reliability.
- In summary, online scam reviews are essential for identifying and avoiding scams, raising awareness about scams and their impact, holding scammers accountable, and building trust in online platforms and marketplaces. By staying informed and vigilant, we can protect ourselves and our communities from the harmful effects of online scams.
How To Determine Online Scam
There are a few things you can do to determine whether a website is legitimate or not.
- First, you can check the website’s domain name registration details using a domain registrar tool like WHOIS. This will tell you when the domain was registered, who registered it, and where they are located. If the website was recently registered or the details are hidden, it may be a red flag.
- Second, you can search for online reviews of the website. Check social media, forums, and review sites to see what others say about the website. If there are many negative reviews or complaints about the website, it may be best to avoid them.
- Lastly, you can use your own judgment and intuition when browsing the website. Does it seem professional and well-designed? Are there any spelling or grammatical errors? Does it ask for personal information or payment details too soon? These are all factors to consider when determining whether a website is legitimate.
It’s important to do your own research and make an informed decision before using any website, especially if it involves personal or financial information.
Conclusion
Online scam reviews are essential for anyone who uses the internet to stay informed and vigilant. Reporting any scams to authorities can help hold scammers accountable and prevent others from falling victim to the same scams. Do your research before engaging with any new online platform or service to build a more trustworthy and reliable online environment.
Hi, since my last post I have come to the conclusion that Gato.io is a scam. Not only do they use the Gate.io name to misrepresent themselves, but also a similar logo to confuse people and make them think they are seeing and using Gate.io. I was convinced to go to their website by someone I met on Instagram. Yes, stop laughing…. anyways, they used all the usual ways to convince me that they were a real person.
They even sent my official US ID that was probably taken from the real/actual person. In a short video call the person looked very similar to the pictures on Instagram and the ID. So after a few weeks of going back and forth, I was texted a link to Gato.io so I could register and set up a profile. They were also kind enough to send me a link to Shakepay to set up a wallet. I invested very small amounts and after a few more weeks of convincing, I invested a little more and then $1,000. Total investment was $1,500.
I was shown how to navigate both Shakepay and Gato.io. The person said their “uncle” had a sure fire way of understanding the “nodes” and she would help me make some money, just like her. On every “seconds futures” trades we did we always made 10% profit. The idea was that the more you have, the more you can trade and the bigger the profit. It was too easy…. But I was hooked. In the back of my mind I was always skeptical and was curious how they were going to scam me. I thought of all kinds of ways except one.
I thought maybe I’ll have to send her BTC or USDT, or maybe she’ll have my account info and take it that way, or maybe she’ll get me by using the QR codes and/or links from one account to another. Then just this weekend the person told me something about the site that I hadn’t been explained yet. The site would give me free USDT if I joined their “new user deposit activity”. She said I would “receive 15% of the event when I made an appointment to accumulatively recharge 50,000 USDT”.
She said to contact customer service on Telegram and they would explain. So I asked Gato.io Customer Service on Telegram how to go about participating in the “new user deposit activity” program. They did not explain any details. All they did was send me a chart with amounts and percentages. They told me I was eligible for the “Accumulated deposit 50,000 USDT, bonus 15%”.
I asked how do I participate and they replied “I will make an appointment for you to deposit a new user with a cumulative deposit of 50,000 US dollars.”. They never told me any other details or asked me if I had any questions. They did not give me any rules or regulations about this program. They did not tell me where to find information about the program on their website or app.
The only thing they mentioned was this: “the date for you to complete the activity period is 15 working days, you need to complete the deposit on September 8th, please be familiar”. So after that the $7,500 USDT appeared in my account. I still had doubts about everything… After researching a little more on the internet and finding this site and others, I decided to test the app and see if I could withdraw part of my initial investment. So the next day (Sunday) I tried to withdraw 1,000 USDT (I had to transfer it from USDT to BTC to withdraw it to Shakepay). The transaction never made it to Shakepay.
I checked Gato.io and found the records of my transactions. The withdrawal had been “not approved”. So I tried again, I thought maybe I made a mistake somewhere. Then today (Monday) I texted Gato.io customer service and asked them why my withdrawal had not been approved. And this is where I finally realized how my new friend finally got me !! Customer service told me that my account was frozen and that only deposits could be made until the $50,000 USD (not USDT) was deposited into the account.
No withdrawals could be made. until then. Ding ding ding this is it!! So I asked what would happen if I did not deposit the $50,000 in time. The reply: “If you do not compete the deposit activity within the stipulated time limit, then you will have to pay a certain liquidated damage”. I asked how the amount would be calculated. Reply: “The liquidated damages amount is double the amount of your reserved activity. I asked for more details and clarification.
Reply: “For example, if you make an appointment for a deposit of 50,000 US dollars, if you fail to complete the deposit within the specified time, the liquidated damages you need to pay will be 100,000 US dollars”. So I asked where I could find the details of this contract and that I wanted to cancel it. Reply: “Once the event is booked, it cannot be cancelled”. “This company is a regular platform, you can go to Google to check more business information of our company. Currently the customer service system does not support the call function.
This platform is a newly launched short-term trading platform under the gateio exchange, so this is a new”. Exact words….. Now my contact… my new friend, won’t reply to my texts. Surprised? LOL no. So in my opinion, I think that they (Gato.io) is luring unsuspecting people to the website, get them to deposit funds and make some money. Then work on the getting them into this new program to freeze their account.
My friend never took or received any money or funds directly or indirectly from me. So this leads me to conclude they are getting a commission from Gato.io to trick people to use this program without telling them the details or explaining the fine print. They (my contact doesn’t have access to any of my funds, so that means Gato.io must be paying them to bring unsuspecting investors to the site and then surprise them. Now, my question is this, how do I get my money back? Any suggestions? Thanks!
same story for me.
This a scam
goodbye money
I have been trading in Gatoio for almost two months. I’ve done well, but now I can’t withdraw my funds. The withdrawal has been “under review” for a week. The customer has disappeared, instead, there’s a help button where no one answers.
I found out about this site from a new online Chinese “friend”. She’s been tutoring me to deal in precise moments with precise amounts, always winning from 10% to 20% in each transaction. It seemed too good to be true and still, it was working. I did small withdrawals at the beginning with no problem, but now I can’t withdraw anymore. My “new friend” has also disappeared and there’s no answer from Gatoio.co
