Fourcredy: Is It a Legit Loan App or Just Another Scam?
In the ever-growing world of financial technology, loan apps have become a popular way to access quick cash in Ghana.
Fourcredy is one such app, promising fast and easy loans with minimal requirements. However, beneath the surface, there are alarming signs that Fourcredy might not be what it seems.
Is Fourcredy Legitimate? Red Flags and Warning Signs
Fourcredy presents itself as a Ghanaian mobile app designed for instant personal loans. It claims to offer hassle-free loans with no mortgage fees and flexible repayment terms.
To qualify, the app states you need a valid ID (driver’s license, NHIA membership, voter ID, national ID, or passport), residency in Ghana, and an active MTN Mobile Money or AirtelTigo Money account. Loan amounts range from 200 GHC to 5,000 GHC.
Be very cautious if someone tells you they can get your funds back from a scam. Sadly, funds recovery is often another type of fraud. Here are some legitimate platforms I've written about so far:
However, several concerning aspects raise doubts about Fourcredy’s legitimacy:
- Lack of Transparency: Fourcredy mentions being registered in Ghana, with an address at Junction Arcade in Tema, but provides limited information about its background, ownership, or financial history. Legitimate financial institutions are typically transparent about their operations.
- Unverified Claims: The app boasts of being the “fastest and easiest” loan app, but these claims lack supporting evidence or independent reviews.
- Potentially High-Interest Rates: While advertising low rates, the fine print reveals annual interest rates can reach 29%. This is significantly higher than traditional bank loans and could trap borrowers in debt. Additionally, their limited operating hours (weekdays, 8:00 – 17:30) may hinder customer support.
- Suspicious User Reviews: Online reviews are mixed, with reports of app difficulties, hidden fees, unresponsive customer service, and even claims of scams.
- Limited Contact Information: Fourcredy does not provide a phone number or easily accessible physical address for support.
How the Fourcredy Scam Works
While Fourcredy may seem convenient, the risks are substantial. Here’s how the scam typically unfolds:
- Easy Application: The app lures borrowers with a simple process and minimal documentation.
- Quick Approval: Loans are often approved rapidly, creating a false sense of security and encouraging impulsive borrowing.
- Hidden Fees: Borrowers may discover undisclosed fees and charges after loan disbursement, significantly increasing the total repayment amount.
- Aggressive Collection: Missed payments can trigger harassment, threats, and public shaming from Fourcredy.
- Debt Trap: The high interest and hidden fees can quickly lead borrowers into an inescapable cycle of debt.
Protect Yourself: Safer Loan Alternatives in Ghana
If you need a loan in Ghana, consider these reputable options:
- Traditional Banks: Offer personal loans with transparent terms, competitive rates, and reliable customer service.
- Microfinance Institutions: Provide loans to individuals and small businesses, often with lower rates and flexible terms.
- Credit Unions: Member-owned cooperatives offering loans and financial services with lower fees and personalized support.
Conclusion
Fourcredy may appear convenient, but evidence suggests it’s a potential scam. The lack of transparency, unverified claims, high interest, negative reviews, and limited contact raise serious concerns.
Don’t risk your financial well-being. Choose reputable lenders like banks, microfinance institutions, or credit unions. Remember, prioritizing safety over convenience is crucial when it comes to your finances.
Fourcredy insult and threaten customer
Fourcredy threatens very badly sending death messages to customers
Fourcredy in the name of deferred payment took more amount from customers rather than the loan plus interest amount but still threatens the life of that same customer if the original payment isn’t done.
After making payment they keep threatening me of payment n also sending my pictures to my contact list….. Infact they are thieves
That is what they have done to me just because I have to pay them today and I haven’t
That’s very bad
They don’t want to show me their location now because I am taking them to court. I believe they don’t have any office and the address they give is fake.
Yea, most of their details are fake. I don’t recommend the Fourcredy loan app to anyone reading this.
Indeed they are scammers. They posted my pictures to my WhatsApp contacts and labeled them as Wanted.
Fourcredy can take differed payment but can’t make a partial payment slot for customers and they threatened me to post me on social media
Take this loan if you want to die early. Your contacts and personal data are uploaded immediately you start using the app and allow permission. It will be used to blackmail you. They will send your pictures and loan details to your family and contacts even on the very day of payment.
Great up but fraudulent people are destroying the name by posting pictures of customers as criminals.
Fourcredy is a scam they will post your pictures to all your contact the same day of payment and destroy your reputation you build for years but then you again it’s not even part of their policy you can sue them and take them on
That is very true; they insult, threaten and even publish your pictures and ID cards to your various contacts that you are wanted even on your due date.
They are very unethical.
They are thieves indeed. They threatened me when it was even overdue for a day. Their interest too is very high. They keep adding more interest when the date for payment is overdue. What kind of loan company that. Hmmm never borrow from them because they are thieves
I told them to stop process my loan it over 24hrs process but they still went a head to credit me.i am not paying back the interest
They did the same to me. They send my picture and my lD card to my contacts and threatened me blackmailing me come and see insult I really regret but I will not pay back because of the insult
They are scammers they did the same thing to me so I will not pay
Please no one should take money from them I payed 3 times the money I took even one day after I was due
I took a loan from them and I been calling them to review the payment plan for me but they don’t want to do it. I have calling them but they don’t pick up any more. They want me to make a deferred payment
Yeah that’s very bad they did the same thing to me I took a loan amount of 980 ghc and interest rate of 390 ghc every week and I have paid for four weeks.
